Essentially, it means eating healthy but having the occasional treat. Eating beauty can mean enjoying chocolate without guilt. Or enjoying a good glass of wine without feeling guilty. It’s not about giving up all aspects of your diet and becoming vegan or gluten-free or sugar-free, because that’s unrealistic and unsustainable in the long run while simultaneously missing out on so much deliciousness! Eating beauty is about nourishing your body with the right nutrients in appropriate quantities and learning to enjoy these treats as part of an overall healthy diet.

Tips for Eat beauty

1. Accept that life is not always chocolate cake and margaritas

You are not a child anymore and this doesn’t mean that you can’t indulge. Using treats as an occasional reward after a long day of training or sticking to a cheat day once a week is not going to derail your progress too much.

2. Set yourself a treat limit

Just as with drinking alcohol, you should never go overboard with your treats because it can lead to binge eating, which will result in cravings for more food which leads to weight gain and binge eating again.

3. Eat beauty in moderation

It’s not about never eating what you love. It’s about eating your treats in moderation. Planning out your treat meals and sticking to it can help you feel satisfied with the amount of food you have eaten, even if they are high-calorie foods. And when you do indulge, don’t go to extremes with the portions. Be realistic with what your body actually needs and be okay with not having seconds if you are full up.

4. Check the ingredients list

One of the biggest things I learnt from my year is that buying products that aren’t packed with ingredients does not mean they’re healthy.


Eating beauty is not about living on a low-carb diet or cutting out all of your favourite foods, it’s about sticking to a healthy diet with the occasional treat so that you don’t feel deprived of something you love. It’s about finding the balance between eating for your body and also for your taste buds. It’s about learning how to enjoy yourself in moderation, which will make you feel happier and healthier.
